Job Chapter 19
My Emotions Are Like A Roller Coaster.
Things continue to be agonizing for Job with his family, his friends, and with God. He’s in ongoing agony and pain and feeling rejected and attacked by all, including God.
There’s one moment he speaks as if there’s no hope, only later to say that he knows that God is his only Redeemer and that he will one day be redeemed from all the pain he’s going through.
In one breath, Job feels hope and the next breath, he doesn’t. In one breath, he’s feeling attacked by God, but in the next breath he knows that God is his only Redeemer.
Have you ever had emotions that seemed to be on a roller coaster? It’s amazing how circumstances in our lives can easily control our emotions. It’s often difficult to look past circumstances and be able to praise God Our Redeemer. It’s difficult to be able to say I have faith in what the Lord is doing. It’s very difficult to say, in amidst the roller coaster emotions, I Trust You Lord!
God help us when our emotions are twirling all over the place, to be able to see your light in darkness, to see your hope in hopelessness, and truly trust you so that we are able to praise you and thank you in our darkest moments.
