Job Chapter 18
Seek the Lord and Listen.
The Battle of words continues between Job and his friends. Bildad responds to Job saying, “When will you end your speeches?” He claimed Job had no idea what he was talking about.
I think of the ministry God has called me to, and I can honestly say there are times when I feel so overwhelmed I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s during these times I find myself drawing closer to the Lord and seeking his wisdom and guidance. Then there are days, I feel a certain confidence in Christ that the wisdom I have is accurate and can be spoken with boldness.
The best advice I can give when in tough situations is seek the Lord with all your heart and then listen.
Jesus invites us to seek (Matthew 7:7-12) him with all our heart and when we do we’ll find him. God’s word also says that if we lack wisdom, then we should ask God who gives generously to those who ask (James 1:5, John 14:26).
There will be all kinds of feedback, advice, wisdom you’ll get from those around you. Some good advice and some not so good. But the best wisdom is what comes from God and from God’s Holy people. So Seek the Lord and Listen.
