Job Chapter 17
Is My Mind Focused On Negativity (Hopelessness) Or On Positivity (Hopeful In The Lord)?
Job is at the point of seeing no hope for his situation. The only thing he sees is: the end of his life just around the corner. He says, “My spirit is broken, my days are cut short, the grave awaits me.”
In Psalms 42:5, 11 and 43:5, we see how the psalmist repeats himself three times saying, “Why are you downcast oh my soul. Why so Disturbed within Me. I will put my hope in God for I will yet Praise Him My Savior and my God.”
The psalmist says this three times during a time of turmoil and feeling a sense of hopelessness. Once we let the feelings of hopelessness be planted in our mind it will grow like wildfire unless we have a intervention from God. Sometimes we have to be like the psalmist and daily cry out to God and daily claim Our Hope and Victory in him. Repeating positive Scriptures and having a positive mind is a tool we can use to help keep us focused on the Lord. We must feed our minds and hearts with Truth. Keep speaking Scriptures as Jesus did with the Devil when being tempted 40 days in the wilderness. If we aren’t repeating positive words of Hope from God’s Word, then we can easily be influenced to stay in a state of despair, speaking words only of Doom and Gloom. At some point, we have to stand up and begin to speak with confidence and boldness reminding the devil he has no place in our minds and allow God’s word to be what replaces the negativity and hopelessness.
You choose: Doom and Gloom or Hope in God! You WILL again Praise the Lord!!
