Jeremiah Chapter 7
Do I Have To Tell You Over And Over And Over Again?
The word of God Is spoken through Jeremiah the prophet basically saying, have I got your attention now? Listen carefully! Either change your ways or face my wrath. I’ve told you over and over and over again but you don’t listen. You act like I don’t care that you are being disobedient to me and following other gods. I warned the city Shiloh over and over and over again and they didn’t listen. Remember the wrath that came upon them? I will do the same to you if you don’t listen and obey.
What’s that one area of sin that you struggle with? What are you doing about it?
Never forget that God’s love is great. His compassion never fails. Great is his faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23.
But also remember great is his wrath. He lovingly knocks on the door of your heart saying, turn your sin over to me and let me help you be an overcomer. I have been knocking on your door over and over and over again. Don’t reject my love and my help!
In his love, God will allow us to fall and sometimes fall hard only so he can capture our attention and help us realize our need for him and our need to repent.
God takes NO JOY in bringing his wrath, but there is GREAT JOY when he sees us restored in a loving relationship with him.
