Jeremiah Chapter 50
Let’s Seek The Lord Together.
God spoke to Jeremiah the words he wanted said to Babylon. God said he will get his vengeance against Babylon because of their sin. They will be captured. Bel, their god, will be put to shame. Their god, Marduk, will be filled with terror. A land from the north will attack Babylon and it will be laid waste. The people and animals will flee away.
God’s people had previously fled to Babylon to escape God’s Wrath in their own land. While in babylon, they lived in luxury without the Lord God. But over time, God will begin to capture their attention. After God’s Wrath falls upon Babylon, all the people of Israel and Judah, will seek the Lord together in tears. They will humbly come before the Lord in surrender and God will bring them back to their own land where they will be satisfied and their sins forgiven.
That’s the hope we have in Jesus. God, continue to knock on the doors of our hearts in hopes that we will humbly surrender our lives to you. I pray that if I go astray that you lead me back. I realize I may have to be humbled and broken before that happens.
Lord, I pray for families who are struggling spiritually. I pray that families would humbly seek you together in tears. That families would experience a newness in you and be satisfied with their sins forgiven.
