Jeremiah Chapter 3
God Is Faithful Even When We Aren’t.
God is angry with Israel and Judah because they have not been faithful to him. They have been unfaithful to the Lord like a prostitute is unfaithful to her husband. Even amongst their unfaithfulness, God is still faithful to them. In other words, God will never abandon his promise of redemption and love. He will never give up on us. He continues to want to be our God, and love us and bless us and save us. He always wants a relationship with us and is just waiting for us to repent from our sins and return to him. Can you imagine what our relationship with God would look like if he wasn’t faithful to his promise of redemption and love. He would quickly give up on us and never return. We would all die and be separated from the Lord God forever in hell. So it’s always the right time to turn from sin and turn back to the Lord because in his faithfulness he will accept us with open arms like the prodigal son returning home to his father.
