Jeremiah Chapter 18
My Compassion Is Not Like God’s Compassion.
Once again we read how God is wanting the nation of Judah to repent. So God sends Jeremiah to tell them to repent of their sins or else face the wrath of God. God has been telling them this over and over and over and over and over and over again. The nation attacks Jeremiah with terrible words and even plot to kill him. Jeremiah is done showing patience and compassion. He prays that God’s Wrath will fall upon them NOW!
Actually, I’m not much different from Jeremiah. When it comes to politics, I get frustrated by all the corruption. I want to see God’s justice/wrath fall upon the political figures who are corrupt, NOW!
Do I want God to show me the same compassion and patience that I want him to show the corrupt politicians? NO WAY!
I still struggle with sin. God must get frustrated with me. But He keeps being patient and keeps showing compassion. Thank you for your patience and compassion towards me.
Lord, I pray for your righteousness to be restored in the lives of the politicians and in my life. Help us surrender our lives to Jesus and repent of our sins.
I trust that you are in control and your wrath will come when you are ready for it to come. In the meantime, I pray for revival in the land. May Christians rise up and be a light in a dark world.
