Jeremiah Chapter 16
Are You Blind?
Once again God warns Judah to stop living in sin. He even tells them not to have children because they will only end up dying from diseases, or by the sword and famine. He also says he will remove from them their joy and gladness. At that point, the people will ask, “Why? What sin have we committed against you?” Then God will respond as if to be saying, “Are you blind?” Can’t you see all the wickedness that has been going on. Your ancestors served other gods, and you are more wicked than they were. Take heed to what I’m saying. Return to me with all your heart and escape the wrath that awaits you.
Are we blind? God said to the people you are not able to hide your sin. I see all and know all. God is well aware of our sins. Let us not be like the people of Judah who are stubborn. May we daily surrender the struggles of our lives to the holy and loving God so we can become his holy servants. Let us serve the one and only true God: the God who created us, loves us, died for us, and has a purpose for our lives!
