Jeremiah Chapter 10
Nothing Compares To The Power Of God So Let’s Serve Him With Our Whole Hearts!
God spoke to the people of Jerusalem through the prophet Jeremiah saying, vs 2-3: “Don’t learn the ways of the nations.” The Lord says that such ungodly practices are “worthless.”
A follower of Christ should be making decisions that go against the practices of our peers who aren’t following Christ. In Romans 12:1-2, we are instructed not to “conform to the practices of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.” God won’t call us to do something that he himself can’t empower us to accomplish. Lean hard on the Lord versus trying to do it yourself.
Vs 10 instructs us that “the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the Earth trembles; nations cannot endure his wrath.” Vs 12: “But God made the Earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.”
If there is nothing in this world that compares to the love and power of God, then why do we serve other gods or follow the practices of this world.
CHALLENGE: Identify the decisions you make that conform to this world and surrender it to Jesus daily to be empowered into a new life of obedience to Christ.
