James Chapter 1
Give Me Joy!
There are nine lessons that jumped out at me from James 1. I’d love to write something about each one but fear the many words would scare people away from reading it. So let me challenge you to truly read chapter 1 of James and meditate on it as you read. Let God speak to you.
I’ll focus on just one of the lessons: JOY!
We are challenged in chapter one to Learn to have joy when facing trials of many kinds. Such trials are like a test. Will we pass or fail? To pass means to have a faith that perseveres knowing God is in control and he will take care of us through the trials. So why wouldn’t we have joy because Joy is the evidence of faith which drives us to persevere.
To fail the test is to be one who whines and complains through the trials, kind of like a baby. Sadly, that describes me very often as I face certain trials. God please help me to have JOY even through the toughest times. Let my JOY be a testimony of my faith and trust in you. May I never give up but continue to persevere the most difficult situations. Give me JOY.
