Isaiah Chapter 8
It’s Not My Fault.
Because God’s people have rejected him, he is about to bring against them a mighty flood that will flow over Judah. Plus Nations will rise up against them. God’s people will be distressed, hungry, and famished. God instructs the people not to turn to spiritists or mediums for instruction but to God only. Instead, they will curse God and their leader but they themselves are to blame for their own bad decisions that have led to their destruction.
We hate to admit when we’re wrong. We’d much rather find excuses why it’s not our fault while blaming others for our demise. It’s never my fault! Rather than say, “I am facing the consequences of my bad decisions”, I blame God or someone else.
May we all step up and be real men and women and take ownership for our behaviors and decisions we make every day. I admire and respect the person who can take responsibility for their bad choices so much more than the person filled with many excuses in order to look righteous.
