Isaiah Chapter 62
What’s My New Name!?!
God declares to Israel and Jerusalem (Zion) that he will vindicate them as a nation, and they will become a crown of splendor, a royal diadem. God declares that he will give them a new name.
Instead of being called DESERTED or DESOLATE, they will be called MY DELIGHT, MARRIED, THE HOLY PEOPLE, THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD, and SOUGHT AFTER.
In Revelation 2:17 it says that to those who are victorious or who are overcomers, Jesus will give them a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.
I don’t know what my name will be in heaven, but as a follower of Christ on Earth, I know who I am in Jesus!
2 Corinthians 5:17 I am a new creation: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ they are a new creation. The old person is gone, the new person has come.”
Romans 8:16-17: The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
May we all find our identity in Christ and not in the things of this world for the things of this world will end but in Christ we live forever. I don’t know what I’ll be addressed in heaven, but on Earth I’m called a child of God.
