Isaiah Chapter 60
God + His Glory (the Messiah) = Transformation.
Isaiah continues the prophecy of the coming Messiah. Israel is living in darkness but when Jesus comes, life will change drastically. As I read this chapter, I circled words that describe these coming changes that will occur.
Vs 1: The GLORY OF THE LORD, the Messiah, will come
Vs 2: DARKNESS will be overcome by the Light, the Glory of God.
Vs 3: NATIONS WILL COME FROM AFAR. This is the Hope for the world.
Vs 5: The LIGHT will change people’s lives. They will become RADIANT for they will exemplify the life of Jesus. They will SWELL WITH JOY. The devil will not be able to overcome it.
Vs 6-7, 10: NATIONS will PRAISE the Lord, SERVE the Lord, be shown COMPASSION.
Vs 17-21: The Messiah will replace WAR with PEACE, SORROW with Joy, Wickedness with RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Do people see a Transformation in my life? Do people see the Light of Christ shining through me? Do I have a Servant’s heart or do I prefer to be served? Do I swell with Joy or has the darkness of life killed it? Is My Heart full of Praise or is Sorrow what follows me? Do I show compassion for the hurting or am I more judgmental? Am I clothed with the righteousness of Christ, or am I too self-righteous that I think I don’t need it?
God, I want a life of transformation that comes only from you. Let people see this changed life in me. Amen!
