Isaiah Chapter 59
I Wish I Could See My Sin As Easily As I See The Sins Of Others!
Vs 1-8: God established a point right off the bat! He said I can save Israel and I can hear their cries, but their sins have separated themselves from me. They were doing ALL KINDS of evil. They RUSHED into sin and eventually their enemies overtook them. It was obvious to see all the evil they were doing.
Vs 9-13: But eventually the Israelites cried out to God and confessed their sins and repented of them. They declared that they rebelled against God and turned their backs on him.
Vs 16-21: God saw their hearts of confession and repentance and promised a redeemer would come and save them. God promised his spirit would not depart from them and that his words of truth would always be on their lips.
We are all sinners. It’s easy to see the sins of others and how much they really need the Lord. But let us all step back and look in the mirror and be honest with ourselves. We are all sinners. We all struggle in different areas:
Lusts, wanting to be in control, addictions, porn, lies, deception, cheating, stealing, gossiping, coveting, anger issues, do I need to list more?
I pray I can recognize my sins as well as I recognize the sins of others so that I can confess them to God, repent of them, receive his forgiveness and then walk in his Spirit always.
