Isaiah Chapter 53:6-12.
It Was “Predicted” And It Happened. Part 2.
Vs 6: We all like sheep have gone astray and turn to our selfish ways. Thank you Jesus that you took all our sin upon yourself and died so we could be forgiven.
Vs 7: While being oppressed and afflicted Jesus did not open his mouth. Why is that? If I’m being punished and I don’t want to, I open my mouth to defend myself. Jesus didn’t open his mouth because he willingly went to the cross to be a sacrifice for us. He didn’t want to stop it. The sacrifice was necessary.
Vs 8: While being beaten no one protested. A time of great loneliness, I’m sure.
Vs 9: Though Jesus did nothing wrong, he was killed between two wicked men and buried like wicked men. His grave was owned by a rich person.
Vs 10: it was God’s will for Jesus to suffer but he would raise him back to life and Jesus would see fruit from his sacrifice.
Vs 11: Jesus would see lives transformed just like today we see it.
Vs 12: God said he would give him a portion of the Great. When a king defeats his enemy, he gets a portion of the enemies spoils, stuff. Jesus’s portion will be those who benefited from his death and surrendered their lives to the Lord. They are Heaven bound. What a great end to a true story prophesied in the Old Testament, and fulfilled in the New Testament 700 years later from the time Isaiah wrote this prophecy to the time it was fulfilled.
