Isaiah Chapter 53:1-5
It Was “Predicted” And It Happened! Part 1
Isaiah chapter 53 is a prophecy from God about his son who would come to Earth, and offer his body as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Isaiah 53 is a breakdown of the description of Jesus, what he would do, and what would be the result and outcome. When you read this chapter you will find its fulfillment 700 years later in the New Testament through the life of Jesus. Here’s a breakdown of this chapter:
Vs 2: Jesus is a tender shoot in dry ground. The Hebrew word means a young sapling, a frail green twig of great promise of delicate stature. So Jesus came from Heaven to Earth and was the tender shoot that pushed up through the dry, hard, cracked world bringing hope and salvation.
Vs 3: Jesus was not a particularly handsome man that would attract the eyes of others.
Vs 4: Though Jesus took our pain and bore our suffering, many will say he was punished by God because he was a wicked man.
Vs 5: But he was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our sins, and it’s what brings us peace and healing.
