Isaiah Chapter 50
Wake Me And Speak To Me.
God loves his people yet they reject him. He confronts them with questions we must also answer for ourselves:
– When I come to you, why don’t you respond to me?
– When I called, why did you not answer me?
– When you are in trouble, why don’t you call on me? Do you think I can’t deliver or rescue you?
I pray that we would understand what God can do in and through our lives. He wants to speak to us daily. It says he wants to wake us every morning and speak to us through his word. He wants to open our ears so that we obey him rather than rebel like those around us. In fact, he wants us to obey him even if it means being persecuted or having to give up earthly things we love.
God asks more questions to the rebellious:
“Will you fear me? Will you obey me? Will you trust and rely on me?” If not, “You will lie down in torment.”
May I learn from this passage and not try and run my own life. But in fact, daily meet with the Lord through prayer and reading of Scripture. May I be consumed by his Word so that I stay faithful to him even if it means facing persecution or losing my life. Lord, wake me every morning so that I may spend time with you.
