Isaiah Chapter 5
Lord, Help Me Produce Good Fruit For You.
The prophet Isaiah speaks to Israel about a man who had a vineyard on fertile soil. He planted only the best vines. Then waited for a beautiful crop of grapes. But instead it produced bad fruit. As a result, he destroyed the vineyard and made it a wasteland that grew thorns and briars.
God spoke saying that the vineyard is actually the nation of Israel. The vines are the people of Judah who he delighted in. The fruit he looked for was the fruit of Righteousness and Justice but instead it produced bad fruit which was bloodshed and cries of distress. The destruction of the vineyard is the coming wrath of God upon his people who produced bad fruit.
How much of this story is our story? For God has created us to bear witness to his name and produce good fruit of love, justice, and holiness. He desires us to walk with Christ and help point others to the Lord as well. But are we so consumed with so many things in this world that we don’t have “TIME” to produce fruit for Jesus? Are we so busy building our own kingdom on Earth that we neglect the kingdom of God? What words await us from the Lord?

2. Depart from me workers of wickedness, I do not know you.
