Isaiah Chapter 48
Listen And Don’t Be Stubborn!
God calls out to his people who are stubborn and hypocritical and says, “LISTEN!”
– You who are called by my name but don’t live it.
– You were called the house of Jacob (which means “deceiver/cheater”),
– You who are called by the name of Israel, which means “governed by God” but you aren’t,
– You who came from the wellspring of Judah (who was noted for his cruelty and immorality),
– You swear by the name of the Lord with your lips but don’t live in God’s truth or righteousness,
– You call yourselves a God follower but your life doesn’t support it.
Three more times God says, “LISTEN!” He says I am the one and only true God. It is I who will deliver you, direct you, and teach you the truth. But you didn’t listen. If only you had listened, then you would have had my Peace and Blessings.
May we learn from this:
Do we proclaim that we are Christians, yet we are stubborn and hypocritical people because our life choices say different? God is calling us to LISTEN and repent of our sins and be faithful to his truth and righteousness versus faithful to our stubbornness.
God, show me my evil ways that I may repent.
