Isaiah Chapter 4
Am I Desperate?
This chapter starts off wth seven women desperate for a man because God’s judgment will cause the death of many men in battle. As a result, many women will chase after the same man for a relationship. They’ll be so desperate not to be left alone in disgrace, that they will not even expect the man to provide for them.
But in those days, God declares the return of his Son who will bring judgment and righteousness. People will be called holy in his sight for they will turn to him.
I think of today and how relationships struggle. I see youth and adult women yearning for a relationship with a man. They want to be loved so much that they lower their standards so that they can have a relationship. Sadly, such relationships don’t last and often the men leave no longer being a provider. It saddens my heart because I know that loneliness is a dark and dreary experience. But there is hope through Jesus Christ. His love is real and unconditional. He is faithful. Let us find our true love first and foremost from Jesus and the church so we are not easily swayed from a holy life compromising our Godly standards. And may us men be the true spiritual leaders God has called us to be.
Jesus is one day coming back as promised throughout scripture. May we be found faithful to him. May we be found Desperate for His love over any other love.
