Isaiah Chapter 34
Come Near And Listen.
God says these words through the prophet Isaiah to the Nations:
“Come near…and listen; pay attention….!” Why? Because the Lord is angry and his destruction is coming.
Are we exempt from such destruction? No! Our freedom and deliverance comes from a surrendered life to Jesus. Does that exempt us from facing God’s discipline? No! Hebrews 12:1-11 talks about the discipline of God that comes up on his people in order to teach them to be Holy. So we may not be doomed to hell but things tend to easily creep into our lives and distract us from fellowshipping both with God on an intimate one-on-one level and with God’s people in a corporate setting, like at a church.
Distractions, insecurities, fear, anxieties, arrogance, pride, worldly pleasures, etc, are examples of what can distract us from God. It’s during these times we need to listen to the voice of God and not the devil. God is calling us to come near and listen. Pay attention!. God is wanting to set us free from such obstacles mentioned above so we can experience all God has for us in both personal and corporate Fellowship; and in being a Servant for him.
