Isaiah Chapter 30
Are You Listening to God’s Voice?
God speaks against those who are obstinate:
- Those who carry out plans that aren’t the Lord’s.
- Those who look for strength and refuge from others and not the Lord.
- Those who make decisions without consulting the Lord.
- Those who want to hear spiritual leaders say what pleases their flesh vs what confronts their sin.
God says their doom is SHAME and DISGRACE.
Does that sound like us?
The Lord said he WANTS to be gracious to us but we must first repent from our sins and put our trust in God and not the things of this world. Cry out to God and He will speak. Then you will recognize his voice amongst all the other voices of the world that only deceive us.
Jesus said in John 10:14,27-28 that His people HEAR his voice, KNOW his voice, LISTEN to his voice, and FOLLOW his voice.
Questions: Are you connected to Jesus in such a way that you can determine false and deceptive voices over false and selfish voices? Are you led by your flesh or God’s Spirit? Are you connected to the voices that come from the Scriptures?
If so, then you will Hear his voice and KNOW it is his voice. Once you know what God is trying to say, LISTEN to it and FOLLOW it.
Be honest, are you trying to run your life your way or God’s way? Our way is doom and disgrace.
