Isaiah Chapter 3
Let’s Go To The Parade!
Going to a parade has always been an enjoyable experience for me as a kid and still is as an adult, especially with the grand boys around. Parade, by definition, is a public display of certain talents or skills, or support for a cause of some sort. Sadly, in this chapter, the people in Judah were parading around their sin with no shame. People were following other gods and feeding their flesh desires while their spiritual life was dying. People were oppressing one another and rising up against one another. Women were parading their bodies to capture men. People were choosing a life without the Lord living in disobedience to him.
God responded by saying, Woe To Them because they have brought disaster upon themselves. As a result they will face God’s judgment.
If we want to live a life without God so we can enjoy the pleasures of this world, eventually we will get what we ask for. God is our support and protector. Eventually he will stand aside and we’ll find ourselves struggling and our needs will not be met. Disaster will fall upon us. Then we will blame God but we have no one to blame but ourselves. The ultimate disaster will be when we stand before God on judgment day. If we choose a life without God now then he will give us what we asked for when we stand before him on judgment Day. We will be separated from God forever. The ultimate consequence for our sins will be spending eternity in the lake of fire called Hell.
If you want to parade something around in your life for people to see, parade around your life with Christ. Let people see the joys of life with the Lord versus without.
