Isaiah Chapter 28
Addictions Are Destructive And Can Kill.
Ephraim was what we dream to become as individuals. It was a wreath meaning a city of wisdom and knowledge. It had glorious Beauty with fertile land. It was strong and powerful. But it all came to an end because of its pride and drunkenness. They were so full of Pride they couldn’t see how alcohol was destroying themselves. They felt God’s wrath would never come against them.
But God declared that he was laying a stone in Zion, meaning the coming of God’s Son, the Messiah, who would bring Justice and Righteousness. And those who reject his Son would face his wrath. God pleads with the people to stop and listen because he doesn’t wish for them to perish. The Lord is wonderful and magnificent but don’t assume that because he loves you that he will excuse one’s unrighteousness without punishment.
Alcohol is very addictive and destructive. But in reality, any addiction is destructive. Let the power of God be what sets you free so that you can serve him 100% rather than be a fading flower that loses its beauty because an addiction keeps you from becoming all that God has for you. Don’t play with your addiction. Deal with it today. Get Victory today. Live in the fullness of Christ today!
