Isaiah Chapter 16
I Pray But To No Avail!
The Moabites will wail and cry out because the kingdom of Moab has suffered great loss because of God’s wrath. Joy and gladness are no longer a part of their lives. They continue to pray and fall before their false gods but to no avail. Have you ever heard someone say, “I did all this work but to no avail.” In other words, they did all this work with no success.
How about your prayer life? How about your time with the Lord? Have you cried out to God but to no avail? You feel he is far off? Why is that?
1. Perhaps God is trying to teach you patience while you wait for his answer.
2. Perhaps he’s trying to conform you more and more into the image of Christ.
3. Perhaps he’s trying to capture your attention because you’re trying to live your life in control. He seems far away because you’re trying to get him to do what you want versus him doing what he wants. You’re not listening to his voice because your desires override his desires. You have to let it go and surrender your whole life and will over to the Lord. It’s then that you will begin to hear and see more clearly what God is saying and wanting to do in and through your life. Surrender it today!
