Isaiah Chapter 13
Are You Walking In Holiness?
A prophecy against Babylon is given because they have turned their hearts against God and are walking in Pride. Therefore, God’s wrath is forthcoming. Destruction will fall upon them and God will humble the prideful. The land will become desolate.
I think of two groups of people:
1. Those who have chosen a life without Christ. God doesn’t wish that any perish in hell but that all come to repentance and live a new life in Holiness. Just as with the Babylonians, on judgment day, terror will be seen on the faces of those who rejected Jesus on earth.
2. Those who are “Christians” but have secret sins. God is calling for confession and repentance. To hang on to sin is to set yourself up for God’s discipline. God will allow us to be humiliated in order to kill the sin of pride in our lives so that Holiness reigns in our hearts. We are called to walk in Holiness. Are you there? Lord, forgive me for my sins and help me to walk in Holiness.
