Isaiah Chapter 11
Do You Understand What This Means For Your Life?
Isaiah again prophesied of the coming Savior and declares from whose genealogy he will come from. He says the coming savior will bear fruit. He’ll have the spirit of God upon him. He’ll have the spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and fear of the Lord. In fact he’ll delight in the fear of the Lord.
He’ll judge with righteousness without neglecting the poor and needy. His words will be truth and will come with power. He’ll speak peace amongst the hostile world and enemies will become friends. And he will empower us to overcome the attacks of our enemies.
May we receive God’s empowerment in our lives by his Holy Spirit. Understand what that means for us. The same Spirit that empowered Jesus, and even raised him from the dead, is the same Spirit who lives and dwells within us, his followers! We have the same access to God’s wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and counsel. Isn’t that something we need everyday? We will be empowered to live in righteousness without neglecting the needy and the poor. We’ll give evidence of God’s transforming power to those around us. And when our enemies rise up against us, we can defeat them through the love of Christ. May people see God’s empowerment and transforming power in our lives and be inspired to surrender their lives to the Lord.
