Isaiah Chapter 1
ARE YOU WILLING?
Israel has rebelled against God and has chosen a life of sin. God sends his Prophet Isaiah to speak on God’s behalf. God confronts them on their rebellion and sin. The people continue to practice Spiritual Acts such as going to the Lord’s House, giving sacrifices and offerings, performing their spiritual festivals, and praying. However, their hearts are far from God, so much so that he detest their Spiritual Acts. They’re living a life of hypocrisy. As a result of their sin they face destruction from their enemies. God allows this because he wants to see them restored in their walk with him. God calls them to repent and turn from their sinful lifestyles and make the Lord their one and only true God. Then he calls them to help those in need.
God says, IF YOU ARE WILLING:
1. I can forgive you and restore you back into the life of Holiness and Righteousness!
2. I can bless the work of your hands so that you produce fruit again.
If you are NOT WILLING, then be ready for my wrath that will destroy you.
Isaiah speaks of God’s promised Savior who will one day restore Israel and save people from their sins, but he says, if you continue in your evil practices then you will be destroyed.
So how are you doing spiritually? Are you doing all the spiritual practices such as attending Church, having a prayer life, reading your Bible, praying at every meal, serving in the church? If you are doing these things, then that’s awesome. But where is your heart? Are you living a double standard life? You look great on Sunday but your heart is far from God the rest of the week?
IF YOU ARE WILLING:
Let today be the day you repent of your sin and turn to God for forgiveness and restoration with him.
