Hebrews Chapter 4
Faith and Obedience!
Does that describe my relationship with Jesus?
The Hebrew writer makes a comparison between those who responded to the message of Jesus and those who do not.
There are those who, after hearing the message of Jesus, have walked with him in faith and obedience. Then there are those who have heard the message of Jesus, and perhaps made a verbal confession, yet their heart is far from him. There’s no heart faith and no obedience because their life is too busy being run by themselves and not the Spirit of God.
God’s love is so great that today he’s calling us into faith and obedience to him. Verses 12 and 13 reminds us that God’s word is sharper than any two edged sword and exposes our shortcomings because nothing is hidden from God. He sees all and knows all and yet still loves us and wants a relationship with us. It’s through a relationship with Jesus that we have hope.
May we do what Jesus asked of us in Luke 9:23
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Lord help me to daily surrender my will for your will so I may serve you to the fullest in faith and obedience.
