Is My Heart Hardened?
To the Jews, Moses was an icon. A great man of God to be honored. This chapter sets the record straight, yes, Moses was a faithful servant of the Lord and to be honored. But Jesus was also a faithful servant of the Lord worthy of even greater honor.
Moses spoke of the coming Savior and Jesus is the Savior who came so that we all might come to know him as our Lord and Savior.
The Scripture gives a warning: do not let your heart be hardened to God’s call on your life.
Verse 14 says we can’t share in Christ if we don’t hold to our original conviction firmly to the end, so don’t let your heart be hardened.
I don’t know your heart for the Lord just as you don’t know my heart. So my question is, what is your relationship with the Lord today? Not, “When did you receive him in your heart,” but what’s your heart today? Are you serving him to the fullest? Or overtime, have you allowed your heart to be hardened so that your commitment to Jesus and the church has diminished?
CHALLENGE: Hold firmly to your faith to the end and don’t let your heart be hardened.
