Hebrews Chapter 12
Being a Christian is too much like a Race!
Yes, this chapter compares our faith walk like a race. Our race is to be the race of living in Holiness to God and sharing the Good News of Jesus around the world. As with all races, there comes difficulties. God, help us stay focused on Jesus and not on the pleasures of this world. Help us hate sin so much that we don’t keep entertaining it but totally overcome it so we can live in holiness with you. God, I personally don’t like to be disciplined, but if I’m not listening to you and your Holy Spirit, then discipline me so I see my sin and turn from it. Thank you that you love me enough to discipline me.
God, also help my relationship with others so that I do all that I can to live at peace with everyone while maintaining my holiness. Take away any root of bitterness in my heart so my relationship with others is based upon love and not hate. Please expose any bitter feelings I may have towards anyone!
As for the race, help me Lord to endure and never give up on this Faith walk I have with you.
