Hebrews Chapter 11
Live by Faith and not by Worry.
This chapter is a challenge to me to be more of a man of Faith and less of a man of Worry.
Faith is defined as a CONFIDENCE in what we hope for and an ASSURANCE about what we do not see.
This chapter lists several examples of people who acted in faith. They believed God and they trusted God.
Verse 16 says they all had this in common: they were looking for a better home to live / a heavenly one. Some believed in this heavenly home so much that, by faith, they were willing to be persecuted or killed.
1. Do we believe God will take care of us? I mean, do we really believe it? I pray I will believe it so much that it becomes evident in my words of faith and actions versus my worrying and complaining.
2. Do we desire God’s will over ours? Are we focusing on a heavenly home or do we focus on the pleasures we can obtain here on Earth more? May the things I put my faith into be that which brings glory to God, and points others to the Lord.
3. Do we believe there is a heaven waiting for all who have faith in Christ? Then, by faith, am I willing to face persecution or death? Or would I prefer to denounce my faith?
