Genesis Chapter 6
The Devil Made Me Do It!
In the Hebrew, it says that it was All “living creatures” (All Basar) that was the cause for the ruination of planet Earth and not Satan. I think this is important because it reminds us of our free will. We have within us both the inclination to do “good” or do “evil”. It’s our choice. We can’t say, “The devil made me do it!” We have the influence of the forces of evil but we also have the spirit of God knocking on the doors of our hearts reminding us what is righteous before God. We get to choose which path we go down: good or evil.
Just like in the days of Noah when evil increased and God destroyed evil and preserved the righteous ones from his destruction. So will it be in the days of Jesus’s return to earth. When Jesus comes back to Earth he will gather his righteous ones and he will cause his Wrath Of Destruction to fall upon those who chose a life without Christ and focused on sin.
Everyone will be held accountable for their own choices: a life with or without Christ! There won’t be any chance for excuses or any opportunity to put blame on the devil, your parents, your peers, etc. We’ll all take ownership of our own choices.
Let’s be real men and women of God and let’s make a commitment today to follow Christ as Noah did:
He was righteous, blameless, and faithfully followed the Lord. May we do the same.
