Genesis Chapter 48
Passing on the Promise of Jesus.
God had given a PROMISE to Abraham that from his descendants would come a great Nation and from that Nation would one day come a Savior for the Jews and non-Jews. This promise has been passed down from generation to generation. Now Jacob is passing down this PROMISE from God to Joseph and his two sons.
God’s promise of a chosen One, a Savior, has since been fulfilled through God’s Son, Jesus. And now we are promised that whoever receives Jesus and walks in obedience to his words will have eternal life in heaven. But those who reject Christ Jesus through their disobedience will be thrown into a lake of fire called hell.
I hope we catch the urgency of how important it is to pass this PROMISE of Christ to our children and their children. I pray that this PROMISE will be SO important that we will do what ever we can to live it and share it with others even outside our family!
