Genesis Chapter 45
Hate. Bitterness. Unforgiveness.
Joseph can’t take it anymore and reveals his true identity to his brothers. He tells them he is their brother Joseph and is weeping loudly as he tells them. The brothers were DISMAYED. Hebrew word is Bawhal which means, “to tremble inwardly,” “afraid,” or “dismayed.” Can you imagine the years of guilt the brothers have carried with them and now to see their brother Joseph. There must have been some kind of fear not knowing for sure what Joseph would have done to them.
Joseph knows they have carried guilt with them for wanting to get rid of him. So he made statements to help them not feel guilty but to realize it was all in God’s hands.
He kept saying “God sent me here not you.” In other words Joseph didn’t have hatredness and bitterness and unforgiveness.
Is there currently something going on in your life that involves your family members? Or perhaps a co-worker or an authority figure, etc. God is in control. Don’t let Satan plant seeds of hate or bitterness or unforgiveness. Have a good “God is in Control” day.
