Genesis Chapter 41
You Are Not Forgotten.
Joseph spent two additional years in prison after interpreting the dreams of the cup bearer and baker. After 2 years, King Pharaoh had two dreams and no magician or wise man in his kingdom could interpret the dreams. It was then the cup bear remembered Joseph and told King Pharaoh about him. Joseph was called before the king and after hearing the dreams, God revealed the meaning through Joseph to King Pharaoh.
As a result, Joseph was put in charge of many things in the Kingdom. He was second in command. Only Pharaoh was greater.
During those two additional years of being in prison, you can’t help but think Joseph felt forgotten by the cup bear and even from God. But God did not forget Joseph. God is not bound by time. We don’t like to wait for God and if our waiting goes beyond our expectations we feel forgotten. Like with Joseph, when God does reveal himself to us, there’s a blessing that comes with it. The blessing is abundant and then we’ll wonder why we ever doubted.
