Genesis Chapter 37
God Is Still In Control.
We go from one day where Joseph sees that he will one day rule over his family to now being a slave amongst the Egyptians.
This must have been a rude awakening for Joseph to go from thoughts of one day being a ruler to now being a slave. It would be easy at this point to feel God is no longer in control. Things are not moving forward as they are “SUPPOSED” to be moving forward. But God is in control and things will be a roller coaster for Joseph here on out. But God is in control!
Don’t we often have expectations as to what God is doing or think he is doing and then things change? Perhaps we get turned down from a job offer, or we are forced to dip into our savings because of a car accident, or our home burns down, or a loved one dies, etc.
When unexpected circumstances occur, we think God is not in control and we panic, and are scared, and we worry and fret!
The story of Joseph will help us see and be reminded that God is in control and that unfortunate and unexpected circumstances NEVER catch him off guard. He’s well aware of what is and what will happen; and will open the doors for us in order to fulfill his purpose for our lives if we but trust him.
Do things seem out of control? Remember, God is in control!
