Genesis Chapter 3
Don’t be Deceived!
Verse one says the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals. It doesn’t say it was one of the wild animals. Satan presents himself as a serpent in order to deceive. He’s able to present himself as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is nothing but a liar and a deceiver. That is his nature. He has the power to manipulate one to justify any sin or any compromise of sin. Just because we justify sin or compromise a little bit of sin doesn’t mean it isn’t sin. Sin is sin. We must learn to say no to sin or else face the consequences of sin. Some consequences will haunt us for all our lives and some consequences will be hidden from the public. Regardless, Sin is Sin and needs to be repented of so that we are obedient to God and his Word.
Help me Lord to say no to sin and yes to your Word. Help me not to justify sin and help me not to compromise it.
