Genesis Chapter 21
The Hate Of Another Can’t Stop God’s Plan for our Lives.
God fulfills his promise and Sarah has a child and he’s given the name Isaac. Sarah sees Hagar’s son, Ishmael, mocking Isaac. Remember, Ishmael is Abraham’s son through Sarah’s servant Hagar.
So when Ishmael mocked Isaac, the hatredness Sarah had for him and Hagar was sparked. She demanded Abraham get rid of them both.
So Abraham sent them off with food and water. When Hagar and Ishmael ran out of food, they saw no hope of life and cried out to God. God heard their cry and spoke to Hagar saying He would take care of them and a great nation would come from their lives.
This Biblical account reminds me of my grandma. My grandpa had a daughter through his first wife. His wife died giving birth to the daughter, named Grace.
When grandpa remarried, his new wife (my grandma) hated Grace and mistreated her to the point Grace left and was raised by other relatives. Grace had called out to the Lord and He heard her and took care of her and she became a godly woman for Jesus. An Amazing woman! She lost connection with her earthly dad but never lost connection with her heavenly father.
When life gets rough, cry out to God. He’ll hear your cry and will respond. Trust Him to carry out His plan for your life. You are loved!!
