Genesis Chapter 1
Who Created?
Verse one starts off with, “In the beginning, God (Elohim) created…”
Elohim is plural for God. Which would probably allude to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Since in Colossians 1:16 it says, “For by Christ all things were created. Things in heaven and on Earth. Visible and invisible. Whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by Him and for Him.”
Plus, in the New Testament (John 8:58) when Jesus said, “Before Moses was I AM….” Jesus is establishing Himself as one who was present at the beginning of time, thus claiming to be present at creation, thus claiming to be God.
So God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit created all the Heavens and all the Earth and everything on the Earth. And with each thing that was created, God said it was good.
May we all comprehend the fact that we are created by God and we are created for the goodness of God and for his glory. May we recognize the fact that we have great value and great worth! And of course a great purpose on this Earth. Let us quit striving for things that bring temporary satisfaction to us and let us strive full steam ahead for all God has for us in order to bring glory to his name!
