Galatians Chapter 4
A Slave To The World Or Free In Christ?
If we are living for the world, we are slaves to the world. But through Christ, would become a child of God so we are no longer slaves to the world of sin but we become heirs with Christ. To become a child of God is the greatest honor! So why do we let the world and sin still entice us from the greatest honor? Why do we play with sin so we can be enslaved again?
Paul confronts the Galatians of their sin and many are upset with Paul. He asks, “Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?”
Some people are so convicted by sin when around Christians that they isolate themselves from Christians because they don’t want to have to deal with the conviction. It’s like they look at Christians as their enemies even though the Christians love them.
Years ago, I worked with a gentleman at a lumber yard. We both graduated from high school the same year. I had recommitted my life to Christ and God made me a light for him at the lumberyard. My friend pulled me aside one day and told me that when I’m around him he’s convicted of sin in his life. It’s not that I was confronting him and preaching to him, but my mere presence as a representative of Christ was revealing the darkness of sin in his life. He was convicted.
When you’re around people, do they see Jesus in you or do you look just like the world?
