Don’t Be Thinking Jesus’ Death Was For Nothing.
Paul noticed that many Gentiles that were coming to know Jesus as their Savior were being told by the Jews that they must be circumcised because that was the “Law.”
Paul became very upset and confronted the Christians who, out of fear, gave in to this false practice. Paul reminded them that one is made right with God through faith in Jesus and not by any practice of any law.
Paul even said that if salvation could be obtained by the work of the law, good works, then Jesus died for nothing.
That reminded me of a conversation I had with a gentleman who believed in Jesus, but also believed any belief in any god was sufficient to get to heaven. I remember asking, if that was true then why would Jesus have died a brutal death for our Salvation, if he didn’t have to?
Just something to think about.
