First Chronicles Chapter 22
I Want Whatever I Do To Be Magnificent For The Lord!
As we open our hearts to the Lord to allow him to use us as he desires, may we be as wise as King David. He knew God called Solomon to build the house of the Lord, but he planned ahead because he wanted to ensure that the house that was built was “MAGNIFICENT” for the Lord. As a result, King David did a lot of preparation work for Solomon in getting supplies and lining up skilled workers. The Hebrew word for magnificent is “GADAL” which means magnificent, excellent or exceeding beyond the norm.
Think of how much more invested we’d be for the Lord if we wanted to make sure all that we did was “GADAL” for the Lord.
King David even went the extra mile in order to help his son so as to ensure success for his son in accomplishing God’s task set before him.
CHALLENGE:
Today, as you go out and do the work before you, have the heart that says I want what I do to be “GADAL” (magnificent, excellent, exceeding beyond the norm) for the Lord. And be willing to go the extra mile as King David did when he did a lot of the preparation work for his son Solomon.
