First Chronicles Chapter 13
It’s Not My Fault!!
David met with all the leaders in Israel to see if they thought it was a good idea to transport the Ark from Judah back to Israel. Everyone thought it was a great idea. So as they transported it, they disobeyed the steps that God established when moving the Ark. Only the Levites were to transport it and no one could touch it or they’d die. But David let those who weren’t Levites move the Ark and one of them touched it and God took his life. David was angry with God, but it wasn’t God’s fault. It was David’s disobedience that led to the death. David needed to take responsibility for his own actions.
May we learn from this because often times we make bad decisions and results into terrible consequences. If that happens, who’s the first to get the blame? Often times people blame God or someone else. Proverbs 19:3 says, “People ruin their lives with the foolish things they do and then they blame the Lord for it.”
Isn’t that true for some. May we learn to take responsibility for our own actions and learn from our mistakes so we don’t do them again. I can be a slow learner at times. David did learn from his mistakes and months later completed the transportation of the Ark and did it God’s way versus his way.
