Ezra Chapter 9
Am I Appalled At Sin?
Ezra found out that those who came to Judah, including the leadership, had intermingled in marriage with the unbelievers around them. They had become unfaithful to God. Ezra was so appalled by their behavior that he tore his clothes, and even tore hair out of his head and beard.
At evening time, Ezra fell before the Lord in humility and shame, and prayed to God confessing their sins.
Do we get appalled by our sin? Seriously! In areas that we struggle, are we so appalled by our actions that we fall before God in humility confessing our sins and praying that he would deliver us from repeated sins? Are we doing everything possible to repent and find deliverance? Or have we become so used to it, that we don’t think God cares anymore, or we just don’t care anymore. God loves us and wants to help us be overcomers. Never quit trying. Never quit turning to the Lord. Never quit being appalled so that you are always striving forward to be overcomers in the name of the Lord.
