Ezra Chapter 2.
Building Relationships.
Yesterday I mentioned that step one toward getting the temple rebuilt in Jerusalem was a surrendered and changed heart, which occurred among the Israelites. Today, step two is the return of several who were held in captive by Babylon. The total number of men, women, priests, and Levites who returned to Jerusalem were nearly 50,000. And there were about 8,000 animals that went with them. Each person was assigned to a task according to their abilities. They were one step closer towards the start of rebuilding the Temple of the Lord.
When it comes to a renewed faith, we mentioned yesterday that we too need to surrender our hearts to the Lord. Step two would be going to where the brokenness is occurring and letting God use your gifts and talent toward helping those in brokenness. Honestly, brokenness is everywhere so how can God use us to bring life to those whose lives are broken?
We can start the process by building a relationship with them. Find something in common with the person.
A man who enjoyed fishing, did an event around fishing and put together a fishing tournament for all ages. He attracted kids and adults both. He then shared his testimony afterwards at the event. He did so because of his love and concern for helping the lost in life without Jesus.
We can implement that thought even for one-on-one relationships. Build a relationship by something you share in common with another person. It’s a great way to connect and eventually provide an open door to share your testimony of faith in Jesus. Try it, and see what happens. Put a lot of prayer in such an adventure and see what God does.
