Ezra Chapter 10
God’s Looking for Christian Husbands and Wives Raising Children Grounded in Christ.
While Ezra the priest was weeping, praying, and confessing the sins of Judah, a large assembly of men, women and children had gathered around him. They, and the whole nation, had gathered and also wept bitterly and trembled while confessing their sins. They realized the seriousness of the problem of marrying unbelievers.
WOW!!! Marrying an unbeliever was a very serious matter because of how it affected the spiritual well-being of each person and their children.
We live in a world today where people are looking for love in all the wrong places. God is desiring a love relationship held by the whole family, but Christians are compromising their faith and marrying someone who is not a believer in Christ. And they think nothing of it. God help us as a nation of believers to capture the seriousness of this problem and quit compromising our faith for something that is attractive in this world. God, you are looking for a husband and wife who are committed to you and committed to raising children in the ways of the Lord. May we take this extraordinarily serious. May our deepest desire be to marry a Christian individual, then together raise children grounded in Christ. Help us, oh Lord!
