Exodus Chapter 9
Accepting the Word of God or Paying No Regard To It.
Moses again warns King Pharoah several times that if he doesn’t let God’s people go, God will send more plagues that will harm the livestock, their servants, and the Egyptians as a whole. Each time Pharaoh’s heart was hardened despite the fact that the pestilence, the boils, and the hail destroyed many people, the livestock, and several crops.
It says that the Egyptians who feared God and obeyed ended up living, but those who paid no regard to the word of the Lord suffered severe consequences and many died.
What does the word of God mean to us? Do we fear God thus driving us with a heart that is open to not just hear the word but obey it? Or do we pay no regard to the word of God? Whichever route we choose, there will be consequences. But please realize that if the word of God is not important to us the consequences are never good. May your heart hunger and thirst for the Word of God!
