Exodus Chapter 8
God, If You Help Me I’ll Serve You More……..Maybe!
Again Pharaoh is told to let the Israelites go so they can serve their God. But with each added plague, The magicians from Egypt are not able to do them. They confess to Pharaoh the power of Moses’s God.
Three times, Pharaoh tells Moses to remove the plague and then he’ll let the Israelites go and serve their God. But once he felt relief from the plague, he changed his mind.
I wonder if we ever get in trouble because of our hunger for worldly pleasures or hunger for being in control? We get in trouble and call upon the Lord and make this commitment to repent from a certain sin because of our desperate need for God’s help to get out of a messy situation. But once we feel relief then we go back to our worldly pleasures, whatever that is. What’s missing is a total surrender to the Lord with our whole heart. God help us all to repent of all sins, now! And stay committed to you and not return to the pleasures of this world. May we allow you to have control versus us fighting for it.
