Exodus Chapter 32
Impatient People Assume The Worst.
If you remember, Moses was on the mountain 40 days and 40 nights. During this time, the Israelites were growing impatient and assumed Moses may not be coming back. So they put peer pressure on Aaron to make a god. Aaron told them to bring all their gold items which he melted and made a golden calf for them to worship.
This angered God and Moses. When Moses saw the golden calf he confronted Aaron who made a “great” excuse. He said the people wanted a god so he told them to bring some gold and he threw it in the fire and out came a golden calf.
Seriously! And God is supposed to believe that??
As a result of their sin, many died.
It’s easy to grow impatient, but often when we do we assume the worst about another person. I had work that was being done for me and a few weeks went by and I heard nothing back. I texted or left a message and would hear nothing back. I assumed the worst. I assumed he was VERY irresponsible! Come to find out, the person had covid and was down 2 weeks along with his family and co-worker.
Why do we become impatient? Why do we assume the worst? Why do we want to take things into our own hands rather than wait on the Lord? God is in control so we need to trust him in All Things. Help me Lord in this area!
